Original centrepieces
Flowers, fresh or dried, as petals or on stems, in combinations or alone, represent a classic table centrepiece, original and easy to achieve. The main thing to keep in mind is that they harmonize with the other elements on the table. Dried flowers, for example, can be arranged randomly on the table, or put together in a wreath.

An arrangement of leaves of various sizes and colours placed in concentric circles under a large plate scattered with petals makes an original table centrepiece. With synthetic floral foam, you can create all sorts of flower-based table centres. Try sticking in evergreen branches, holly, carnations, roses, ivy, mimosa, mistletoe, sunflowers, eucalyptus leaves, chili peppers, colocynth, mushrooms…

Fruits and vegetables, whether combined with flowers or not, make a bold statement because of their originality. Combinations of candles, flowers and leaves are also very attractive. Candles, of course, spread a soft light that enhances the convivial mood of the meal. The wide variety of shapes and colours available on the market, not to mention those you make yourself, allow candles to be adapted to every context, just as with candlesticks. Thus, you can place them in a container filled with water, for example, accompanied with flower petals. The choice of the container is actually very important. You could use a serving dish such as a soup tureen to create a decoration that goes perfectly with the rest of the table. A milk jug, a wine glass, a little faience pitcher, a small fruit dish or a wicker basket are other examples of readily-available and original "vases."

All kinds of objects can be used to create an original centrepiece - just remember the principle that they should be compatible with the other elements of the table. Give free rein to your imagination and adapt your table decor to the season: place golden pine cones on your table for Christmas, decorated eggs for Easter, apples or a vine stock in the fall… or take your motivation from the theme of the meal (baptism, anniversary, etc.)
