Spicy Avocado and Cod Balls Recipe

This is a traditional hors d'oeuvre (Féroce d'avocat) in the French Caribbean.
Ingredients
Ingredients for 4 servings
- 4 ripe Avocados
- 250 ml (1 cup) Cassava (Yuca) flour
- 400 g (14 oz.) fresh Cod
- Oil
- Vinegar
- Garlic and chilies
Method
- Peel and slice the avocadoes, place in a bowl; sprinkle the cassava meal over top and mash together;
- wash the cod and grill it; remove the bones; chop finely;
- make a dressing by combining 4 parts oil to 1 part vinegar; season with minced garlic and chilies;
- mash the cod together with the dressing; blend in the avocado-cassava mixture;
- form into small balls and serve.
