METHOD
- Combine all the ingredients from the first part - begin with the eggs and sugar; add the milk; finish with the dry ingredients;
- pour into a buttered loaf pan;
- bake in a preheated 180° C (350° F) oven for 30-45 minutes depending on the shape and height of the pan;
- remove from the oven once the bread is nicely browned; insert a skewer into the center: if it comes out clean, the bread is done;
- dissolve the honey in the hot water; add the lemon juice;
- place the bread on a rack set over a pan; drizzle it with the glaze;
- slice the bread and serve on its own, with whipped cream or a cinnamon-flavored mango coulis.
