Since the 12th century, négrette, gamay, cabernet franc, syrah and tannat are rooted in this terroir which received V.D.Q.S. status in 1947. On the terrasses of the Tarn and the Garonne, north-east of Fronton, the wine growing area is spread over 150 ha from which the local cooperative and several independent wineries produce 2 760 hl of almost entirely red wine annually.
