In the clear air of Engadine with its beautiful green or snow-covered meadows, this hotel lives up to its "heavenly" name. Twenty-four elegant rooms offer a unique view of an imposing mountain landscape. Culinary delights are to be had in the starred gourmet restaurant "La Bellezza." The cozy library and the Eden Garden are relaxing oases. Nature, art and culture are in complete harmony. There is a full range of leisure activities.

Born in Flensburg in 1976, Boris Benecke was already working his way up with patience and determination during his apprenticeship at the Intermar Hotel Glücksburg, where in his final examination he received the highest mark for the whole of Schleswig-Holstein. But this was only the starting point of a stellar career in gastronomy. Further years as an apprentice followed at the Restaurant Marinas (1 star), with Heinz Winkler (3 stars), with Harald Wohlfahrt at the "Schwarzwaldstube" (3 stars) as well as with Dieter Müller in Bergisch-Gladbach (3 stars).

In 2002 he found his way to the Hotel Paradies where he superbly represents the 18 Gault Millau points and 2 Michelin stars won by the cooking of Eduard Hitzberger. A recent innovation at "La Bellezza" has been the introduction of reduced-calorie "Lifestyle Menus," with four courses totalling just 800-900 calories.

Apart from his work at the Paradies he has had a few guest performances at El Bulli and Dieter Sögner in Spain, with Eckhart Witzigmann at the Hangar 7 in Salzburg as well as at the Swisshôtel in Bangkok, at the gourmet festival at the Victoria – Jungfrau in Interlaken and at the Palace Hotel in St. Moritz. He has a passion for antique cookbooks and loves traveling to foreign countries, which provide him with the energy and imagination he brings to our establishment as the confident and passionate chef of the Paradies kitchens.

In his cooking courses he introduces our guests to, among other things, his brilliant yet approachable flavor-filled cuisine.
