In 1967, Michel, with his brother Albert opened Le Gavroche in Lower Sloane Street, London. Neither had ever worked in a restaurant before, having worked in private houses since both starting their culinary careers at 14. Michel had worked for the British Embassy in Paris and was the head chef for Cecile de Rothschild when the time came to move across the channel. The two brothers offered a menu never before seen in London.
Situated in the heart of London, the Gavroche is the ambassador of classical and modern French cuisine. Following the tradition of his father, Michel Roux Jr. proposes a seasonal menu which has the «Gavroche touch». All wine lovers will be amazed by the selection of prize-winning vintages offered on the wine list. Thanks to the comfort of the surroundings and to the impeccable service of the dedicated staff, guests can entirely relax and savour their meal.
