 | Apple Pie - Omenapiirakka

Ingredients
Dough:
- 125 gr butter or margarine (room temperature)
- 150 ml sugar
- 1 egg (room temperature)
- 250 ml flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
Filling:
- 250 g quark (maitorahka)
- 200 ml sour cream
- 100 ml sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 5 – 6 apples
Preparing the dough
- Beat the butter together with the sugar until light. Add the egg.
- Mix together the flour, baking powder and vanilla sugar, and stir into the dough.
- Line the bottom and edges of a large, greased pie tin with the dough. Place the pie tin in the fridge to cool.
Making the pie
- Peel, core and slice the apples. Place the apples into the pastry-lined pie tin. Sprinkle with sugar.
- Mix together the quark, sour cream, eggs, vanilla sugar and cinnamon and pour over the apples.
- Bake the pie at 200° C (400°F) for approximately 30 minutes.
