In the heart of France's Touraine region, Jean and Sophie Bardet offer you a warm welcome. The area produces some famous wines, including Chinon, Bourgueil and Vouvray, and is renowned for its story-book châteaux: Chenonceau with its gallery spanning the river, Villandry and its formal French gardens, Langeais with its drawbridge, Amboise and its horse-ramp tower, and Azay-le-Rideau, surrounded by a mirror of water…
Touraine is a beautiful province in which kings chose to live and find repose, enjoying all the pleasures of life. Today thanks to the TGV, France's high-speed train, Tours, the capital of Touraine, is only a 55 minute trip from Paris. Close enough to escape for an unforgettable lunch, or to begin a memorable holiday at Château Belmont.
Costmary, red chard, Chinese cabbage, sweet cicely, squash galore… Jean's garden is a garden of love… because Jean loves his garden! Forgotten vegetables, exotic herbs and dadaist curiosities like pear melons, peach tomatoes and strawberry spinach… 100 aromatic plants and 600 vegetable plants go into creating the dishes that have made Jean Bardet famous as the creator of completely original and perfectly delicious combinations.
Jean Bardet is a self-taught individualist, a man with his feet planted firmly in the garden and his heart in the farmyard. He enjoys hunting trips with friends... And cigars.
